Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce and Lotus People

This last year, I become more involved with the Irish Australian Chamber of commerce. In an effort to expand my Irish networks in Sydney, I attended a networking breakfast in 2017 and soon after applied for their pilot Emerald Leadership Program; a peer to peer mentoring group for 8 women in leadership roles.

The group has been fantastic for building networking, making friends, expanding our Irish community and, of course, seeking advice from one another. It has been a privilege to be a part of this pilot program and am looking forward to continuing the relationships with the current group along with welcoming the new intake.

In October 2017, I was also named a finalist for the Young Entrepreneur category at the annual IACC awards. Along with impressive guest speakers, a notable aspect of the awards was the fifty-fifty split of male and female finalists and I was honoured and delighted to be a joined winner of the Young Entrepreneur prize.

Throughout the year, the IACC host a number of relevant and interesting networking events and fellow award winner, Sinead Keane, and I were delighted to be asked to speak with Emma Hannigan at a breakfast to share our story and our journeys so far.

If anyone is seeking to get involved with the Irish Australian community, please do get in touch or come along to a networking event.

And thanks to Barry Corr, CEO for dropping by this week to hand deliver the year book for 2018 – finally I’ve landed my cover shoot!
