Let me tell you a story…

Lotus People was founded on strong principles and core values – from inception, our goal has been to distinguish ourselves within the veritable sea of Sydney agencies by providing truly stellar customer service to both our clients and our candidates. Everything we do is geared towards ensuring that no candidate ever feels they were given the once over, written off and never contacted again, and that every client receives our very best effort and excellent results.

Respect for individuals and a genuine passion for people has always driven Sinead Connolly, our Founder and fearless leader. As someone who has built the business from the ground up, the Lotus values are part of her DNA – they “go without saying.” Underpinning this, is a genuine emphasis on collaboration within the team, rather than an “every man for himself” environment. As the team grows, it’s important that these values are clearly defined and shared by the wider team.

With this in mind, we engaged the wonderful Emma Hannigan from Curly Top Media to run a storytelling workshop for the team.

Some of the key take aways from this workshop;

 Understanding

We all learnt each other’s background stories, why we ended up where we are and what got us here

Collaboration

The realisation that the team are all on the same page; “Collaboration” shone through as a core value that underpins everything we do as a team.

Story telling

Brene Brown says that stories are just data with a soul! Emma’s workshop showed us the importance of using stories to illustrate our values. Instead of, “we will always get back to you,” it is more powerful to say, “we get thank you notes from candidates we have rejected, because they are so happy we’ve taken the time to let them know. Few agencies do.” (This is a true story, by the way!)

At Lotus People, we are driven by people, and by the difference we can make by connecting great people with excellent businesses. End of story.
