#Lotusladies have doubled in size; Welcome Sara and Jess!

Laura and Sinead are delighted to welcome and introduce two new additions to the team; Sara Cornwall and Jessica Kniaz – we have officially doubled in size!! Welcome to the fold, #lotusladies!

Jess, with a degree majoring in HR, has always had an interest in HR and recruitment. Combining her experience so far in administration, her relevant degree and her recent exposure to temping work, Jess is the perfect candidate to support Laura, Sinead and Sara with temporary candidate management, team support and just generally keeping us in check day to day! Known to Sinead and Laura previously as a candidate, we are delighted to have someone we know and trust join the team in this busy, crazy and very fast paced startup phase!

Sara, also well known to Sinead and Laura, is really excited to join us as a senior consultant, recruiting permanent positions. With her Masters in International Business and background in medical colleges, she is well equipped to provide industry expertise and knowledge to our valued clients within Education, Membership Bodies, Associations and Healthcare, across a range of roles.

As we grow and expand, we are committed to ensuring that clients and candidates experience consistency, quality and extremely high levels of service whether they are dealing with Laura, Sinead, Sara or Jess. We are feeling extremely positive about this organic growth and are so looking forward to reflecting on our first full year in business, come August!

And over to Sara and Jess… so, why Lotus People!?

Sara;

“The most important thing for me is to work within a company with inspirational leadership – I want to work for people who lead by example, and whose vision and values I respect and share. That is exactly what I have found at Lotus. The culture is collaborative, supportive and outcomes-focused, with a true dialogue between consultants and the directors. I genuinely love working for a company that consistently wants the best for clients and candidates as well as opportunities for professional growth and development for me! Lotus People is an agency that places great emphasis on continuous learning and improvement, and the results are happy candidates, happy clients, and happy consultants! Plus, the free in house weekly yoga is definitely the highlight of my week!”

Jess;

“The reason I was so excited about joining Lotus People is because I was inspired to work for a startup agency that shares my vision and values. The welcoming and supportive culture within our office is genuinely extended through to every client and candidate and is resulting in me developing ongoing professional relationships with candidates and clients. In my time so far, I have developed and furthered my skills within the recruitment industry and the emphasis on building such a strong culture means I am working alongside an amazing team!”

As of 2024, a powerful generational shift is redefining the Australian workforce. For the first time, the workplace is no longer dominated by Baby Boomers or Gen X, but by Millennials and Gen Z. According to the Great Place to Work Insights Report 2024 , these two generations now account for 67% of the workforce in Australia — a demographic transformation that is reshaping major culture across workplaces. With this shift means evolving expectations: how people want to work, what they value in employers, and what they need from leaders. As Baby Boomers retire and Gen X move into more senior leadership roles, Millennials and Gen Z are stepping up — and demanding workplaces that are human-first, values-led and future-focused.

In a market where competition for qualified professionals is fierce, many of our non-profit clients are asking us: “How can we attract and retain great people when we can’t compete on salary and perks?” It’s a valid concern. Industries such as technology, financial services and consulting often have the financial bandwidth to offer high salaries, generous bonus structures and a long list of lifestyle benefits. For mission-driven organisations working with tighter resources, it can feel like a difficult race to run. But a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP) isn’t built on budget alone. An EVP is fundamentally about meaning. The reasons people feel proud to work at your organisation. The most effective EVPs we see are not necessarily flashy, but they are clear, consistent and deeply connected to the values and culture of the organisation. When well-crafted and confidently communicated, non-profits can not only compete, but excel, when it comes to attracting and retaining capable, aligned professionals who are motivated by more than just salary.
